Considered to be one of the greatest novels ever written, it was a finalist for both the Pulitzer Prize as well as the National Book Award for fiction.

Song of the Leafbird tells the story of a soldier lost deep in the jungles of Vietnam not aware that the war is over. He encounters an old local woman who has trekked into the jungle to find a quiet place to die and together they form an unlikely bond.

What makes the book so remarkable is that the engrossing story is really an allegory for spiritual enlightenment. A road map to killing our inner ego and finding our true self.
